When you picture a Firefighter, what do you see? Many people are under the impression that women can’t be Firefighters. Perhaps they wouldn’t be strong enough? Brave enough? Or even tall enough?

The video above was made in Cannock Staffordshire with a group of 14 – 16 year old girls. The girls believed that Firefighting was not a career option for a girl and wouldn’t have thought about becoming a Firefighter just because they were female, before working with us.

When we explained the truth about Firefighting and the need for more women to join the service the girls felt so strongly that they wanted to let more people know the truth.  Take a look at their video and have a look around the site to see if Firefighting is something more girls should consider as a career.
